Baby Carrot

This week our little boy is about the size of a carrot or 10 1/2 inches long. He is growing fast and kicking away these days.

He's not the only one growing quickly these days. This last week, I've realized that I really need the weather to warm up because I'm running out of coats that zip or button up over my belly. I tried to close the refrigerator door on my belly yesterday, and I'm just not moving around quite as well as I used to.

Its a boy!!!

We found out this week that we are having a little boy! He is healthy and we couldn't be happier. I cannot wait to meet this little man! We are still working on a name, and I've been busy planning the nursery now that I know what we are having.

Hank is a few weeks into coaching track and really seems to be enjoying it! The schedule makes for a long day for him, but thankfully the season is only eight weeks. In his free time, he's been working on our yard getting it ready for the shed and our garden. Hopefully, if the weather stays nice, we'll have the garden up and running this weekend!

Sunny days!!!!

We have had an amazing weekend in Oregon, three days of sun so far and tomorrow is looking bright too!

Hank and I took advantage of this weather and decided we needed to get to work on our yard, it's pretty ugly. Hank is working on a retaining wall to build up the area for our shed and we've both been working on the space for our vegetable garden.

I am almost 18 weeks along now and baby has decided to finally make his/her presence known.

Spring Break

Hank and I went to his parents' house for a couple of days during Spring break. It was fun and relaxing and we were able to go the beach, which always makes me smile. We actually caught a nice, sunny, non-windy day on the Oregon Coast (which is a rarity).

We are slowly accumulating some baby furniture and are really looking forward to finding out if it's a boy or girl, so we can start decorating the nursery. On our way home, we picked up a changing table and with our REI dividend we were able to by the Bob Revolution. It's a jogger stroller that fits both of us. I'm really looking forward to running in more races after the baby comes, so we wanted to make sure to get a quality stroller.

As for what's new with us...Hank started track this week, and is really enjoying it. I am still sick and praying that it gets better soon. I felt the baby move for the first time on Monday night, and can't wait to feel our little one moving around again soon!

Huff Happenings

We've been busy these last couple of weeks. I've been busy growing a baby, Hank's been working hard at school and at home, and Gracie has been wearing herself out playing in paper bags.

I definitely spoke too soon on my last post about feeling better, I'm still feeling sick and sleepy. I know it's all for a good reason though :).

Here is my 15 week picture, not a whole lot of difference between this one and the last one, but I sure can tell.

I have been slowly accumulating baby clothes, a cute pair of homemade booties, and diaper bags and books from friends and family. We are so thankful! Here's a snapshot of what our baby will be wearing in just a few months.

Hank bravely entering the crawl space and checking wires or doing something that has to do with electricity....so handy!

Who needs to buy expensive cat toys, when she is so entertained by trash?

Baby lemon

I am officially out of the first trimester!!!! I am supposed to be entering into the "I feel great" stage of pregnancy. I think I'm getting there, slowly but surely. I'm able to cook again, which I think Hank is pretty excited about and I'm not taking near as many naps as I was a few weeks ago.

Our baby is about the size of a lemon this week and my body is starting to show that there is a little person in there. Here is a link to Babycenter.com to find out how our baby is growing this week:

February Surprise

We woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, about three inches! I love the snow, it's a gives us a nice break from all the rain.

This week has been a rough one for us. I was pretty sick and Hank had to take me to the Emergency Room on Tuesday night to get some IV fluids, anti-nausea medicine and testing. All the tests came back great and I am finally starting to feel better. Maybe soon I can eat something other than bread and bananas :).

This is my last week at Deluxe, so I am spending the week finishing up work and packing up my office. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my time for these next few months. Hank may be working for the Forest Service again this summer, which he would love. He has an interview on Friday, so more to come on that.

11 1/2 weeks

We had an ultrasound last week and were able to see our little baby. It is somewhere between the size of a fig and lime right now. We have a very active child, we watched it flip and move around it's arms and legs. We were able to watch for about five minutes and I think I could have watched our little one all day long. I've got a little baby bump now, but my clothes still fit...for now. I hesitate to say that I'm done with the nausea that comes along with the first trimester of pregnancy, but I think I finally am....yay!

Hank is working on building a compost bin, and hopefully we'll have some good stuff to use in our garden come this summer!

A new adventure..or two

Hank and I have decided that with our little baby coming, we are going to start a blog to keep family and friends updated on the changes in our family. It's still under construction, but we are looking forward to getting it up and running, so here is our first post! More to come soon.....
