Loving the grandparents

I love grandparents, they were all super helpful, and it's so fun to have other people around who love Elijah just as much as Hank and I do!

Time is flying!!

Elijah is already five weeks old!!! I can't believe he's been around that long. I also can't believe I haven't slept more than three hours at a time for the last five weeks. It's been a rough few weeks for Hank and I, but we are so enjoying our little boy. He still looks just like his daddy, he smiles a lot and cries a lot too, but we're hoping he grows out of the crying fits pretty soon.

The school year is going pretty well for Hank, I think he's finally getting into the swing of things. I am learning how to live life in two hour chunks, and loving being a stay at home mommy!

Here are some updated pictures of our little cutie pie!

Happy two weeks Elijah

Elijah is two weeks old today. The last couple of weeks really just feel like one long day. Hank and I are learning more and more every day and Elijah seems to be getting more accustomed to life outside my body. We have had some hard nights, but thankfully the sweet happy days outnumber the hard nights. Here are some updated pictures of the cutest boy in the world!

A picture is worth a thousand words

At least that's what I'm telling myself as I put more pictures on here and less words lately. I figure that's what you want to see anyway :).

Just minutes before our sweet baby boy arrived, and the last belly shot :). Elijah's first car trip, he's so tiny....and then there's the picture of the most adorable baby boy in the world.

Updated Pictures

Here's some more pictures for those who are wanting them. A picture of Jenna with Elijah, a couple of him looking cute before I swaddled him, and one of me being paternal.

Make that TWO weeks!

With baby Elijah being all sideways, then rightside up, then upside down, etc, we and our doctor decided to go ahead with a C-section this morning. Not our first choice, but had Jenna gone into labor with the baby in his sideways position, it would have been an emergency, 90mph drive to the closest hospital.

Elijah Thomas
Born around 7:50ish (in the AM)
6lbs 14oz
19 3/4 in.
strawberry blonde hair (a fair amount of it)
huge hands

Anyway, Jenna is doing OK (very tired). The baby is feeding well, and is very calm, especially when we're holding him.

Here's a couple pictures. I'm sure Jenna will have me updating it again soon.

Only four more weeks to go!!!

This week Elijah is comparable to the size of a crenshaw melon. In other words, he's HUGE! Coincidentally it really does feel like there is a melon in my belly.

My doctor's appointments are going well, and I am a little uncomfortable, but for the most part feel pretty good. Hank and I are just getting really excited to meet our son!

Summer is flying by, only seven more weeks!

I'm getting quite large these days. Baby Elijah is doing well....he's kicking, twitching, and shifting all the time! We are definitely getting more and more excited to meet him! We are in the process of finishing up the nursery, so we are busy shopping, sanding, painting, and decorating.

We had another ultrasound last week, just to check on a couple of things...it was so much fun to see him again.
It's been a nice relaxing summer so far. With both of us being home, we are getting to spend some great quality time together, before our little one makes his appearance to the world.

Long time coming

It's been a few weeks since my last post, and there is a lot going on in our lives!

I went to Vegas for a baby shower with my family and friends and was blessed tremendously! It was so good to see all of the wonderful people in my life, that I get to see so infrequently.

While I was visiting family and friends in Vegas, Hank was finishing up his last week of work. He is keeping busy so far this summer with home improvement projects. He's building all kinds of shelving for our shed and doing an amazing job!

Hank is also going to try and fight fire this summer, he's been hired on an as needed basis and will be thrilled to get the opportunity to work on a fire this summer.

I'm a couple of weeks into my third trimester (29 weeks), and still feeling pretty good :). I am having some weird pregnancy symptoms, but I guess it comes with the territory. We are beginning to get our little guy's room all set up, and at the same time, getting rid of a lot of stuff that we don't need anymore.

Belly shot 23 weeks

I feel great!!!!! Our baby boy is doing really well and moving around ALL the time! Can't wait to meet this little wiggler.

We planted our garden last weekend and we're looking forward to watching our veggies grow. This is our first garden, so it will probably be more of a learning year than a fruitful one. Though, I guess learning is also fruitful!

As for our little Gracie....she is still loving the oddest toys and has recently become quite obsessed with the package my pregnancy pillow came in.

Baby Carrot

This week our little boy is about the size of a carrot or 10 1/2 inches long. He is growing fast and kicking away these days.

He's not the only one growing quickly these days. This last week, I've realized that I really need the weather to warm up because I'm running out of coats that zip or button up over my belly. I tried to close the refrigerator door on my belly yesterday, and I'm just not moving around quite as well as I used to.

Its a boy!!!

We found out this week that we are having a little boy! He is healthy and we couldn't be happier. I cannot wait to meet this little man! We are still working on a name, and I've been busy planning the nursery now that I know what we are having.

Hank is a few weeks into coaching track and really seems to be enjoying it! The schedule makes for a long day for him, but thankfully the season is only eight weeks. In his free time, he's been working on our yard getting it ready for the shed and our garden. Hopefully, if the weather stays nice, we'll have the garden up and running this weekend!

Sunny days!!!!

We have had an amazing weekend in Oregon, three days of sun so far and tomorrow is looking bright too!

Hank and I took advantage of this weather and decided we needed to get to work on our yard, it's pretty ugly. Hank is working on a retaining wall to build up the area for our shed and we've both been working on the space for our vegetable garden.

I am almost 18 weeks along now and baby has decided to finally make his/her presence known.

Spring Break

Hank and I went to his parents' house for a couple of days during Spring break. It was fun and relaxing and we were able to go the beach, which always makes me smile. We actually caught a nice, sunny, non-windy day on the Oregon Coast (which is a rarity).

We are slowly accumulating some baby furniture and are really looking forward to finding out if it's a boy or girl, so we can start decorating the nursery. On our way home, we picked up a changing table and with our REI dividend we were able to by the Bob Revolution. It's a jogger stroller that fits both of us. I'm really looking forward to running in more races after the baby comes, so we wanted to make sure to get a quality stroller.

As for what's new with us...Hank started track this week, and is really enjoying it. I am still sick and praying that it gets better soon. I felt the baby move for the first time on Monday night, and can't wait to feel our little one moving around again soon!
